Awesome Hike, Awesome Day!
We left at 9am this morning, the weather was fresh and cloudy. The climb became taugher after the “Halfway Point”, as the temperatures were higher, the sun came up and the last mile was a killer! Thankfully we didn't encounter any rattlesnake!
Once up there, we took the chance to go check the 100-inch telescope and walked around the property. We enjoyed a lunch break at the Cosmic Café, went to check the view over the city, from the end of the parking lot and started our way down.
The switchback/shortcut to reach the toll road was not very pleasant as the soil was burned, therefore, dry, dusty and slightly slippery.
We chose the Lower Creek Trail, along the river, which was super enjoyable (shade, river, quietness). We even took the time to do a “feet river bath”, so refreshing!!
We got back to the station around 4pm and enjoyed a last collation, enjoying the scenery before heading back to the city!
First hike, First success!
Ready for the next one!
