This was a day hike with a big group of women. I believed we were 17. This hike was easy until we left Chantry Flats to Mt Wilson. I loved the forestry feeling of Upper Winter Trail. The last mile and 1/4 was brutal. I disliked the switchbacks with the crowdeness of many hikers. Once on top, we experienced the beauty of being above the clouds. I dislike the feeling of knowing that one can actually drive to the peak. We did not find the sign for Mt. Wilson, apparently it had been there the week before.
