After Bear Mountain in the morning, then mountain biking for four hours in Sedona, and fuel at Sedona Beer Company, I embarked upon a sunset hike! Should've started about fifteen to thirty minutes earlier…and would have, but the sour and belgian beers I tried were doing a number on my insides…alas!
Only saw a few people coming down as I was going up. Trail divided into three sections- initial switchbacks, long and mostly-flat “bench”, then the last section near the peak. Trail guide didn't go to the actual peak- doesn't seem there is a trail, maybe I'll check it out on a morning hike some other time, but in any event, the trail guide suggested going to the “Sedona Overlook”, which did not disappoint! Again, fifteen to thirty minutes prior would have been more optimal.
Way back in the dark, headlamp and music kept the critters away. Made pretty dang good time- thanks, caffeine!
