Wilson….dun dun, dun dun. Wiiiiilson! (For all my Phish heads out there) Husband and I decided to do our longest hike of the year to date on Sunday summiting Mt Wilson. We started out on Sturtevant trail, went back to the waterfall since we missed the sign to go up into the hills and back on trail. So many waterfalls were on this portion of the trail and it was so beautiful. The last 2-3 miles really kick your ass, especially since the switch backs were covered in snow. Thankfully we had our new micro spikes and got to try them out! We got to the summit, enjoyed lunch and looked around. After we headed down the opposite side, which was much easier to go down. Didn’t need micro spikes on the way down doing the loop on the opposite side. It was a great day, cool but sunny. Sadly, we did see a SAR helicopter and vehicle entering the canyon as we got off trail. Great hike overall though
