started going up lower winter creek, joining the winter creek trail at hoegees camp. This connects with the Mount Wilson trail at manzanita ridge where the bench is. Going down, we used upper winter creek which was along the ridge the whole way.

the winter creek and upper winter creek trail had a few spots that were eroded/ sketchy but doable.
