Decided to get out and run Mt Baldy via the Bowl/Ski Hut trail before the storm moved in.

Made it to the Ski Hut in 54 minutes, maybe one or two small ice patches right before the hut.  The hut was open today, so I poked my head inside to see what it looked like – I was impressed! I don't know why, but I was expecting something more barebones.

Not far past the ski hut I stopped to put on my microspikes and the wind was starting to pick up. That 4th mile is killer! I recorded over 1300 feet of gain in that stretch. As I got close to the top, snow started to ‘fall' – and my fall I mean blown sideways by the strong winds, which were to my back for heading towards the summit.  It was absolutely howling at the summit, so I took 2 pictures and turned around to come back down.  From the trailhead, it took me 1:40 to get to the summit.

The wind and snow made it tough to see as the wind was now in my face on the way down, and I can see with the storm moving in how visibility was only going to get lower and lower.  Started motoring down and was quickly able to shed my jacket and just kept moving until taking of my spikes in the same place I put them on.  I didn't stop at the hut on the way down, and made it back to the car feeling good!

Totals: 8.25 miles, 2hr:27min, average pace of 17:51/mi, gain of 4032ft
