Finally this trail was legal to hike! Had been closed due to the Bobcat Fire for a while. Beautiful trail! My first time hiking B-P was from Islip Saddle, and I recalled seeing the junction with Windy Gap. Had since hiked it from Vincent Gap twice, which is fine…but I like new ways of doing old things, so here we are! Windy Gap is a beautiful trail. Not too strenuous, and once at the PCT, fairly easy going. Met a dude at the summit who had hiked from VG, works for NASA at Edwards Air Force Base, had a nice chat with him. There's another way to meet up with the PCT, via Dawson Saddle, that I'll do next year…
