What I remember from this hike was that the parking lot (pull-out) was very easy to miss. I literally passed it thinking I was going to run into an official paved parking lot for a Robert Luis Stevenson Park. Luckily, I went back and after a little game of Frogger, we found the trailhead.
The trail for the hike itself is very clear and easy to navigate. It is very exposed to the elements so be prepared and wear layers. Towards the top, some hikers were kind enough to write a message in the dirt directing others to the farthest peak which is the summit for Mt. St. Helena. When we made it to the top, we couldnt believe the 360 views!! the hike itself is pretty barren but the views from the top are abundent and lush. You can see the napa and sonoma valleys, Mt. Tamalpais, the sierras, etc. We spent a good long while drinking up the views from the top on the interesting volcanic rock formations. There werent many people out that day expect for the occasional biker or rock-climber.
