We started our hike at around 8:30 am and was able to find a parking spot at the lot across the trailhead. The most dangerous part of the hike was crossing the unexpectedly busy highway. The first half mile of the trail is steep and rocky with switchbacks, but overall in great shape and tree-covered. The start was over the fog bank and when we got to the fire road, the area opened up with gorgeous views of the Napa Valley to the south. The fire trail is in great shape, with mild grades until you reach the last 200 yards of the summit where it gets steep. Weather was sunny and mild with very slight breeze. There was some snow on the side of the trail near the last section. By the time we got to the summit of the north peak, the fog had mostly cleared below us, and you can see for many miles with vistas to Mt Shasta and Mt Lassen to the north. Couldn't have asked for a better day to hike this peak! By the time we got back to our car which as around 12:30, the parking lot and other sections of the road should were full of cars so get here early!
