This is number 4 for us and my favorite so far. Might have something to do with watching the sun rise as we hiked! I couldn’t help but just soak it all in.
We got to the parking lot at 5:45 and only two other cars there. 63 degrees and still dark at 6am as we headed up. There was a nice breeze the whole way and yup there really are 40 switchbacks ha! Eh they come in handy for my husband and son in law to keep an eye on me since I’m way slower. They can look down and make sure I’m still moving!!
it really was a beautiful hike. Lots of shade. We made it to the peak at 8am and had breakfast before heading down. Total time was 3hrs and 40 minutes. Pretty fast easy trail coming down but the elevation is pretty good as you climb. I can’t keep up with the guys but I decided to hike my own hike and just enjoy.
