7 miles peppered with blooming manzanitas leading to a SPECTACULAR view!
To get there isn’t easy though, and I don’t mean to the view…I mean to the parking lot. Corral Canyon Rd is largely unpaved and calling it a bumpy ride would be an understatement.
The hike itself, however, is awesome! Certain areas require just enough climbing to make it interesting, resulting in a moderately difficult adventure. Because of this I would say it’s probably best to leave the fur babies at home.
There is a geo-cache of sorts located at the peak for those who enjoy that sort of thing, and a view that goes on forever for those who don’t.
Additionally, about half way up, you have the option to branch off towards the “fire look-out tower.” Shifts here last for weeks before a rotation, and I’ve heard at least one of them is quite friendly. You can take your chances for some extra info on the area.
