This was the first of five Wilson summits. Yes, you read that right. I've summited Wilson FIVE TIMES this year. It was partly accidental, partly intentional. See I'm friends with people from different hiking groups so after the second or third time, I got asked to lead some small groups, given my experience with Wilson.

This mountain never fails to disappoint. I've taken Chantry Flats twice this year and Sierra Madre thrice. The weather conditions were vastly different each time – mild temps, scorching heat, snow, hail, name it. Bugs made their presence know sometimes and other times, they were a no-show.

Will I shoot for Wilson summit #6 this season? I say “never say never!” With the right company and milder temps, maybe. Until then, there are more mountains to conquer.
