Weather was in Low to high 40's during the hike, all in all a chilly day to Summit – Rose Peak, a group of 9 folks started our journey sharp at 8:30 am, as few of us didn't get the permit forehand (advisable to secure online permit – cost $4), and for in-person ($2), you have to wait for Visitor Center to open and then buy, loosing precious morning time with sun setting early now in winters. We finished the hike by 6:00 pm, so took us about close to 9.5 hours.
We were served with Glorious view of Sunset and had to hike last 1 hour in dark, so please carry headlight and gloves for Winter. Water – 2-3L should be enough. Ensure all folks in the group are up for the challenge, as in experience with 15+ Mikes & 4000+ Elevation Gain.
