My Father is a retired SAR mountaineer who has climbed mountains all over the world (including the highest peaks on 5 continents), so I grew up around hiking and mountain climbing.  I have spent all of my life in Southern California and I have summited most of the significant peaks in the region, but I also enjoy hiking for hiking sake and exploring new trails.  Mostly, I just enjoy being in the mountains and sharing that joy with others.  Most of my hiking experience has been in the San Gabriel Mountains and in the Sierra Nevada.  The first summit I can remember was Mt.
