This was one for the books – we started at the wrong trailhead (oops!), but the extra 2 miles we went were the prettiest part
It was a perfect day with wonderful friends! Beautiful views with dramatic clouds/weather. Rain looming in the distance.
The weatherman said 40% chance of rain. We found it! Fortunately we were down below the trees before the lightening, heavy rain, and hail started.
Followed the forest road up the whole way but it was nice to see the volcanic landscape below. Storms rolled in around 12 very strongly
