Started the day early driving out to the trailhead at sunrise, was parked and on the trail by 7am. Clear day, about 25 degrees. Trail
Knocked off two 2019 hiking goals today. Last Fall I set a goal to hike Bear Mountain, the highest peak in Connecticut, in the Winter.
Ice and snow covered all the way to the summit. Microspikes highly recommended. Hiking poles would help as well, especially for the descent .
