Mission Peak

We decided to make a quick backpacking trip out of this hike. Thursday afternoon we hiked the Sunol McCorkle Trail to the Sunol Backpack Camp.

Started at Ohlone Wilderness Ranger station, hiking 3 miles to the backpacker's camp. Alpine start, reaching Mission Peak summit at 6:45 AM, just as the

4th hike of the challenge. The night before we camped at sunol campground and had a beautiful sunset, which was perfect for a birthday celebration.

What can I say about this hike? It was a very HOT day!!! Thankfully I have my hiking umbrella. I enjoyed the trail very much

Cloudy weather with wet fog at the summit, which added-up to the atmosphere. Quite windy at the final ascent, but very peaceful and calm at
