The peaks of the utah challenge
GRANDEUR PEAK – Elevation 8,299′ (2530m)
Short, steep and easy-to-access with great views of the Salt Lake Valley, this trail features a waterfall and is accessible year-round.
Recommended Six-Pack Route: Grandeur Peak East Trail from Church Fork – AllTrails
Distance: 6 miles; Vertical +/- 2,627 ft.
LOOKOUT PEAK – Elevation 8,931′ (2722m)
Lookout Peak is near Salt Lake City and offers excellent views of the surrounding mountains and a grassy peak to take it all in from.

GOBBLER'S KNOB – Elevation 10,242′ (3123m)
Don't underestimate this trail because it's short, because it's “one of the steepest trails in the Wasatch” gaining over 3,000 vertical feet in just over two miles.

Distance: 4.4 miles; Vertical +/- 3,106 feet
DESERET PEAK – Elevation 11,031′ (2751m)
Deseret Peak is the tallest in the Stansbury Mountains and the high point for Tooele County. As you summit this peak keep an eye out for the herd of wild horses that roam the canyon.

Distance: 7.4 miles; Vertical +/- 3,595 ft.
MOUNT NEBO – Elevation 11,929′ (3430m)
Mount Nebo is the tallest of the Wasatch Range and you will often find yourself with only the mountain goats to keep you company at the peak.

Distance: 9.3 miles; Vertical +/- 3,589 ft.
MOUNT TIMPANOGOS – Elevation 11,752′ (3582m)
Mount Timp is the second highest peak in the Wasatch Range, and well-loved for its spectacular display of wildflowers. This climb is a strenuous, all-day endeavor.

Distance: 14.5 miles; Vertical +/- 4,668 ft.
Alternate Peaks
For 2023, Kyhv Peak has been designated an optional alternate peak. If you choose, you can replace any of the six peaks above with Kyhv Peak.
KYHV PEAK – Elevation 7,871′ (2399m)
Kyhv Peak towers over the city of Provo and provides spectacular views of the city and surrounding mountains.
