We were hoping that snowshoeing would be an option between Piños and Sawmill but that wasn’t the case. It was very icy but not snowshoe worthy… so we just carried them on our backs for the 6-ish miles. A beautiful day to be up in the mountains. Starting temperatures when we began our hike at 7 in the morning was a brisk 35 degrees. At the peaks (both Piños and Sawmill the wind was really blowing. All in all a gorgeous day on the trails.
