We started at Vivian Creek Trailhead at 7am and the weather couldn't have been better!! This was my second summit of this mountain in 2 weeks and Audrey's 1st but i was game to go again with her since we both signed up for the Six Pack of Peaks Challenge together. Interesting enough we are starting with the hardest one first. Why? Why not:) Love hiking because you can meet all sorts of different people on the trail. People who are doing the same challenge and those who are training for Mt Whitney or other big hikes and those who want to camp at the summit. Amazing active people out there. By the time we reached the summit at 1:50pm, everyone was heading back so we had only a few groups at the top with plenty of time to take pictures without waiting in line to long. Weather at the top was warm with a cool breeze which made it enjoyable to have lunch. The little chipmunks at the summit are quite active with one actually climbing into my backpack looking for food. Super cute little critters. The whole trip with breaks took us 11.5 hrs, was tough at time especially towards the top but is worth every step and blister. Would definitely do it again but i think i will give it more than a week this time. Cheers to those who have made it to the top. Off to the next.
