With so many trails closed, I was starting to go crazy, then I discovered that Volcan Mountain was open. It was a long drive, about 2-1/2 hours to get to the trailhead from my house in the San Gabriel Valley. It was a very pleasant hike. Even though most of the hike was on a fire road going up, it was very pleasant and didn't really feel like a fire road. The view from the top is very nice!
