Parking lot wasn’t too full like it can be on most weekends. We arrived just before 7:30 a.m. this past Saturday and there were still a few spots left, huzzah.
The forecast had promised 20-35 mph winds but we only encountered heavy gusts at the saddle and that’s also where icy patches began. Only a few hikers continued past the saddle.
The snow was mostly of the fluffy sort, however, and not difficult to maneuver in spikes. We reached the summit tree just before noon.
It was a beautiful day with great company!
