Peak 1 Volcan Mountain Before Sun Up

Great early morning start to our first peak of the year. It was clear skies and a little chilly starting off. Wind picked up slightly near and at the summit. About a 3/4 of a mile in we opted to put on our micro spikes. The trail (road) was mostly covered and icy. Spikes worked well though.

We had the trail going up and the peak all to ourselves. Started seeing other hikers coming up as we hit the half way point on our descent. Perfect weather (mid to high 30’s at the start and upper 40’s as we finished) for our summit today.
