My girlfriend and I had a week to hike in Colorado so we decided to see how many summits of the six pack of peaks Colorado we could do. We had previously done the Southern California six pack of peaks for 2017 together. I had completed it in 2016 and 2017 as well. We decided to do the hikes at the lower end of the elevation to adjust to the altitude. We had just completed a half marathon in Mammoth, CA a couple of weeks before so that helped but we were nursing some slight aches and pains. The weather was great with clear skies and the stairs were crowded but the trail to Rocky Mountain was empty. We made it up and enjoyed the views and our first summit in Colorado! We were so excited to finally be hiking in Colorado. We had wanted to do this since Mr. Hester had added this challenge! On to the next peak…..
