I started hiking in January. I am 61 years old soon to be 62. The person I went with is an avid hiker. Going uphill was easy for her but strenuous for me. I was in awe of the scenery and took many pictures along the way. When I would get tired or winded, I stopped to meditate, breathe and regroup. There were too many bugs on this trail. Bugs love me and swarmed around me even though I used repellent. I got bit quite a few times. All the discomfort of going uphill went away when I got to the top. It was an amazing view. The weather was perfect. We admired the view, took several pictures, and ate our lunch. Going downhill was more difficult for me. I have arthritis in my knees. I slipped and rolled a few feet on loose gravel. I got a few scrapes but I survived and continued the downhill stroll. The hike was awesome and I am in awe that I did it.
