I knew better, I really did, but I let Ryder lead me down a trail I felt like was wrong to follow other hikers. We ended up going 2 miles on this trail before I finally convinced him we had to go back. Which in turn made him decide that he was only going to do x amount of miles more and not summit. I had other plans. I did get him to the top, but not without plenty of complaining. It was a long but beautiful day. 7.5 hours and 12.77 miles.
