Most of the smoke that had been lingering in town cleared out for the day and we had a pretty clear hike. We started at 8:00 am so it wasn't too hot. The first part of the trail was in some trees and about half way up it become more exposed with switchbacks working their way through volcanic rock. There was a little scrambling over loose rock but not too bad. I actually thought we were at a false summit when we reached the top as it seemed so quick compared to South Sister which we did a couple of weeks ago. It took about 2 hours to get to the top and the same coming down. From the top there were beautiful views of South Sister and Broken Top as well as Mount Jefferson and Mount Hood in the distance. Five peaks down, one to go!!
