Poppies and Pie

Julian, a long scenic drive.  The morning was hot and for a second I was considering not going but glad we started because the breeze made the morning sun bearable.  We also had hats and plenty of water.  The first part was steep and had to adjust the pace-we so not timed ourselves the goal is always to complete the hike.  Many rest stops where taken.  Once the steepness leveled the hike was enjoyable.  The benches, old fireplace, vistas and meadow of poppies made this hike one of my favorites.  Will do again before the summer heat.
