Bonanza Camp Rd is rough, but passable… my Outback got up it ok, just verrry slow. Despite my lazy 10am start I was the only person on the trail all the way to summit, only saw four people on my descent. Beautiful wildflowers and sunny calm breezes today, love this hike. Two hours trailhead to saddle, 40 minutes from saddle to summit; it was like hiking the longest false summit, always felt like you were just about there. A weird configuration of five cairns marks the summit spur trail. Only 2 hours 10 minutes to descend back to trailhead. Pretty sure I heard wild horses at one point (and saw plenty of horse droppings near the saddle) but didn't actually see one. Maybe next time. Five peaks down, just one to go!
