What a day what a day! First, the weather was perfect for a hike and clear enough to see for miles. The only downside was the clear skies meant my delicate British Isles skin had to fend for itself and I'm sad to say that the sun won that battle.
My son and I started early, drove up to the trailhead, where we snatched the final spot in the park, and set out on our adventure. We met a lot of great people, shout out to everyone down from Quebec on the trail! Maple Ridge was surprisingly challenging and we had to get creative a couple of times to negotiate the trail. Had lunch on the forehead then continued north. The visitor center was closed because of a washout on Toll road, but no worries. We continued along the ridge and ran into the tourist train from the Stowe Gondolas near the Chin. Nothing quite like waiting in line to walk through a narrow leg of the trail because people don't care about trail etiquette. Anyway, we made the summit and ran away from the crowds, worked our way down Sunset Ridge, and called it a loop.
Great day, even with the tourists. This has been a fun challenge series Thanks!

Congratulations, Michael! I’m headed to New England on August 1st and planning to hike at least six of the peaks as well.
How long are here and how much are you interested in doing?
