My fourth trip up Oregon’s third-highest peak: South Sister. I have one peak left to finish! 13 miles and just over 5,000 feet of vertical climbing. This is a beast, but sooo rewarding. We had views to Mount Adams and Mt Saint Helens in Washington State, and Mount Shasta in California.

THE PERMIT SYSTEM for South Sister was actually breeze, mainly because I hiked on Thursday. There are 100 permits per day available, and there were still permits available on Wednesday. The changes they made this year seem to be working better.
