This was a beautiful hike on the Franconia Ridge Loop. Went up the Falling Waters Trail to Little Haystack, then followed the ridgeline to Mount Lincoln, before heading on to Mount Lafayette. Took the Old Bridle Path down to complete the loop.

There were some puddles and mud, but no rain. All could be avoided with careful foot placement (and good balance). The trail was busy, but it was most noticeable at the summits, where people tend to drop their packs and linger. It's wonderful to see so many people out enjoying this beautiful trail.

Reached the parking lot at about 8:15 and snagged one of the last spots. The hiker shuttles were running though, so it looked like everyone who wanted to hike could find a way.

Started my hike at 8:26 and finished 6:14 minutes later. The docents from AMC said they tell most people to plan 8 hours to hike the loop.

I was super impressed with the Greenleaf Shelter. It was so nice, with fresh baked goods, hot coffee and lemonade available (cash only) and a menu for a hot meal for hikers staying there that night. Nothing like any shelter I've seen out west.

This was my fourth peak in the challenge — two more to go!
