Cable-climb up Picacho Peak

My friend, Sandy, and I climbed Picacho Peak a few years ago. Even though we’re both older, we’re stronger and faster. I wasn’t winded and it only took us 2 1/2 hours to complete the hike. The cables are well placed and require upper body strength, though your legs get a serious workout too. Great views from the top, plenty of parking at 8am when we started, and $7 to enter the AZ State Park. Wish we’d had more time to explore on this beautiful day, but I’ll take what I can get of this great Arizona weather and desert hiking.
