Having climbed Elden twice before on the Elden Lookout trail, which I dislike, I now don’t know why anyone would do that, given that this other route on Upper Oldham is so much nicer! The trail was hard to follow starting about 1 mile in, because it’s in a wash that had a lot of soil and rocks moved by water lately. Good thing I had GPS!
