I had so much fun going out spontaneously with my 11 y/o nephew to decompress after weeks of work and summer school.

There have been many challenges getting used to him living with us and he felt so much at home on the trail.

A hike this big was new to him so we took our time and had fun playing and reading the signs to learn about the plantlife.

He was sad we didn’t get to climb the tower but his sense of pride and accomplishment was beautiful to see!

I have a feeling hikimg will be a great way he and I can connect and build special memories.
