Started at 7am, finished in 3.5 hrs. The road from Maple Springs to the trailhead is rough. 4WD isn't really needed, but high clearance is. Lots of big potholes. The trail seems mostly like a fire/service road. There were some interesting views over Orange County. We saw some bobcat and roadrunner tracks. The bugs were fierce, and I'm glad I bought some head nets. The summit was fairly anticlimactic – just a bunch of radio towers. Overall, an easy hike: the incline isn't bad at all.
