Back to see the Peralta dragon

After arriving in Phoenix from Canada the day before this hike and  combined with a later start, I suffered in the heat a fair bit, though it wasn’t much over room temperature out there. But it was evident that my cold Canadian blood needed warming!

I like how this hike meanders across the stream as it climbs – each crossing like a mini oasis.

Up near the top is a large rock formation that looks like the head of a dragon, and I blame this fire-breathing fellow for making me so hot ;).
