Fremont Saddle

It was a glorious day, with bluebird skies, high temperatures in the 60s, water flowing throughout Peralta Canyon, and verdant flora all around us. Of course, the Superstition’s otherworldly rock formations were spectacular as always. It’s hard to think of another hike that has a view comparable to that of Weaver’s Needle as a hiker crests Fremont Saddle. We took our time soaking in the panoramic vistas before reluctantly heading down.
Peralta Road was in good shape and in the process of being graded as we made our way to the trailhead. Peralta Canyon Trail had a few straightforward water crossings, but was also in good shape. A Forest Service employee was doing a great job of clearing brush on the lower portion of the trail.
