The weather was great, though overall it was not. We went up Sunset trail and down Hunter trail, which allowed us to go up the other side of the mountain and made it longer. Unfortunately, the group I hiked with wanted to speed walk the easier extra mileage, so I didn’t have time to really enjoy that portion or take pictures of it. Climbing the cables was tough but an adventure for sure. Gloves are a must. Most not great for me, was that the group I was with allowed me very little time to enjoy the view at the top before wanting to head back down. My biggest mistake on this one was going with a Meetup group I hadn’t hiked with before. It was really pretty though from the top. Further unfortunately though, the summit is a lot smaller than you’d think and was very crowded. With all the people on the mountain, there were significant lines at the cable portions and you felt rushed to go up or down them quickly. I imagine that people able to go on weekdays could avoid that issue. Not a favorite hike, but I checked this one off and did get a few nice pics of the view at the top.
