Trail was in excellent condition. The first half mile is very easy, the next 2mi is a steep narrow climb to the main dirt road. Then it's a long slow uphill climb to High Point. I should have worn shorts, it was warmer than expected. Views are fantastic. Some wild flowers blooming. No clouds, it was a sunny day, very happy to have a wide brimmed hat. Watch for motorcycles and 4-WD vehicles. I started at 9:30AM, an earlier start would have been better. There is a bathroom at the campground across the street. Saw lizards, horny toads, crows and squirrels.

Great photos, Craig. Looks like a beautiful day!
Thank you. Yes, it was a beautiful day. I carried a 25lb pack as practice for Grand Canyon R2R. I have a back country permit for camping at Cottonwood, Bright Angel and Havaasupai garden in late July. This will be my second R2R. These hikes are great practice
