Tamalpais Hike and Kinky Boots Play

Good day to hike Mt Tam. Took the loop counter clockwise and stopped at the Mountain Theater for their summer performance. We started at 9am and just barely got to the theater in time for the show to start (2pm). I’d probably recommend taking a more leisurely pace to enjoy the majestic views. Most of the climb was shaded except for about half a mile between Mountain Home Inn and Railroad Grade, which was a hot steep fire road section. We took the following deviations from the route: extra time in the valley on the way up via the lower Fern Creek trail; Rock Creek trail in order to get to the amphitheater; and Easy Grade on the way down to lessen the stress on tired feet.
