Day was heading for 98* so departed lower trailhead at 5:00 am.  Only saw one small group heading down as I was summiting.  Stayed on summit about 45 min.  A caretaker for the cupola arrived and opened it up.  Very cool to see the history behind it.   Trail was busy on the way down.  Wildflowers are beautiful today.  Might last one more week though unsure of the heat.

The views are spectacular and the route is treed until the last 1/2 mile.  Helped to keep heat down on descent.

  1. I’m inspired! Very cool that they opened up the cupola. It’s never been open when I’ve been up there.
