This was a tough final hike! I did the final one solo, it definitely showed that hiking with partners helps and keeps you motivated, but I am glad I did it myself. I went clockwise on the All Trails route, hitting Eagle Peak before running along the ridge through and around the backside to reach the summit of Mount Diablo. It was very foggy at the start but got above the fog line rather quickly, the trail was quite muddy and slick at the beginning from the rains before. I used poles which helped with keeping from slipping for the most part, I slipped and fell descending from Eagle Peak which tweaked my back a bit, but I was already in it so not turning back! There were two coyotes that seemingly were taking the same trail as me, I saw them a few times early on, but got above and past them and did not see any more along the rest of the route. The views were stunning all around, I took some time to enjoy the view from the top and got a gatorade from the museum/visitors center up top. The way down on the fire roads was pleasant after all the ups and downs and rocky parts of the initial climb. Calves and quads cramped up a bit towards the peak, but was manageable for the trip down. Overall was exhausted, but felt good at the end!
