Reminds me of Yosemite
Also on this hike
Started our hike at 8:50am on a beautiful partly cloudy day. Plenty of fall foliage with the dormant grasses and shrubs offering additional beautiful colors. Gradual incline for the first 3 miles on a wide jeep road with great views down the valleys. The last few miles up had a few rolling inclines but mostly covered by pines and oaks trees. This portion reminded me of little Yosemite valley on our way up to half dome. The summit isn’t actually at the old look out tower. It’s to the right of the flat rest area near the top and marked by blue tags through think trees. The summit plaque is then on top of a large boulder you climb with the help of a ladder and some rope.
This was one of my favorite hikes.
