This is my favorite hike in San Diego.  It’s peaceful.  Yes, it’s a beast, but you are rewarded with such beautiful landscape and ups and downs to make it bearable.  With recent rain, the manzanita is starting to bloom and there’s a lot of new green foliage.  I started this hike early to beat the heat, by the time I got back to my car, it was 81 degrees.
