Cloudy ascent up Elden
Started just after sunrise, as I had a long drive home to San Diego still ahead of me. The clouds from yesterday’s showers still lingered, and I would have a few sprinkles on me during the ascent. I had climbed this peak back in 2021, so I knew what lay ahead of me: switchbacks and more switchbacks. This is Arizona’s version of Mt. Baden-Powell 😉
I did not linger at the summit, as the wind was blowing enough to make sure my hat was secure. Was up and down in 3 hours, which was quite faster than last time. With that, my Six Pack of Peaks – Arizona Summer Challenge was complete!
