Wheeler and Walter

AI is definitely getting smarter, because my phone figured out somehow that I was interested in Wheeler, and so a news article flashed up that the peak and trails would be closed Aug 21-28 for indigenous ceremonies so of course I whipped around my travel plans and made the 2-hour drive from Santa Fe ahead of schedule.  Goodness it was steep and rocky getting up to the top!  Got to see Walter Mountain, just a stone’s throw away from the trail, but decided not to push on to Simpson as rain squalls were moving in from the northeast.  Beautiful views into Colorado!
