4/12 San Jacinto Peak via Marion Mountain Trail, 12.4 miles, 4,690 feet in elevation gain

My third attempt and second summit of San Jacinto this year. My second attempt was in March from the Tram Station via the Sid Davis route in heavy snow wearing snowshoes. Unfortunately, the effort in snowshoes came up short that day. I only made it to Miller Saddle while my hiking partner Sarah continued up the back side of San Jacinto to achieve her summit.

Today, my attempt was from the Marion Mountain Trailhead. A longer hike at 12.4 miles with almost twice the elevation gain as my previous attempt in snowshoes at 5.9 miles  via the Sid Davis route.

Today was a great day with my hiking partner Sarah. We didn’t really hit any significant snow until we made to up to the PCT intersection. We only needed micro spikes on this one.
