With the impending snow later this week, we wanted to cross another peak off the list and conquer Ontario! This is my 11th peak from the Southern California Six Pack of Peaks Challenge list of 12. I’m so motivated to get that last one before the end of the year!

What has been most notable is how much stronger I’ve become this year. I hiked Cucamonga Peak from the same trailhead in the spring, and now, doing Ontario in November, I am significantly less sore and much faster! I had a blast, and the weather was PERFECT for a fall hike. It got warm (in the 90s!) at times, but overall, it was quite comfortable. Fall colors were out, and it felt like a magical storybook at times.

We started at 5:40 am; made it to the summit by 10:00 am (spent an hour taking pictures, enjoying the views, and eating snacks!) and got back to the trailhead by 2 pm. 8.5 hours on the mountain, but only about 6 hours and 45 minutes moving time.
