Volcan with the Five Oaks bonus trail

This was my second peak in the day. Based on my speed on previous mountains against the All Trails estimates, I had a feeling I could get it done before sunset I would just need to push it pretty good! I started at 2:30 and it’s been getting dark at about 5. I quickly got up noticing the Five Oaks trail on the way up too. I told myself I would add that in on the way down if I still had the daylight. I love the views of Julian from the top, and the memorial bench. The diorama on either side of the surrounding mountains was cool and put everything into perspective. Neat to see the PCT too! I decided to do the Five Oaks trail on the way down and I’m so happy I did, what a great little addition! And it would have been more brutal on the way up for sure, which would be a great challenge but it would have stressed me out in terms of daylight!
